Roman songs
The Roman song repertoire is among the richest and most widely known in Italy. First cinema and then television, both firmly established in the capital, promoted the accent, the vocal style and the characters typical of Roman folklore which, since the 1800s and with the institution of the Festival della Canzone Romana di San Giovanni, has nourished its songbook with the contribution of poets, composers, actors and singers.
