Cantagiro 1968

The seventh edition of the Cantagiro began in Sanremo on 19th June and ended in Recoaro Terme on July 6th. The consolidated success of this event brought large audiences wherever the long caravan of singers travelling along the streets of the Italian Peninsula stopped to perform. Presented by Nuccio Costa and enlivened at every performance by Alighiero Noschese’s unforgettable imitations, Cantagiro 1968 was divided into two groups, one for the stars and one for debuting singers. The winner in the first group A was Caterina Caselli with Il volto della vita, followed by Gianni Morandi with Chimera  and Dalida with Un po’ d’amore. For group B, the Showmen won with Un’ora sola ti vorrei , followed by Mino Reitano with Avevo un cuore che ti amava tanto  and Elio Gandolfi with Un anno di più..  However, there were many successful  songs in this edition, including Il vento  by Dik Dik, Io per lei  by the Camaleonti, Siesta  by Bobby Solo, La nostra favola  by Jimmy Fontana, Balla Linda  by Lucio Battisti, Lascia l’ultimo ballo per me  by the Rokes and Il mondo è grigio, il mondo è blu  by Nicola di Bari.
