Enrico Caruso playlist

The first recording star was a Neapolitan tenor who was launched to celebrity status by an American producer that had met him in Italy. Enrico Caruso (1873-1921) sold five million records and was a living legend primarily for Italians who had emigrated to the New World, indirectly promoting integration in the land of opportunity. The undisputed star of the Metropolitan, Caruso recorded many Neapolitan songs making the genre extremely popular with an international audience.
