African songs - vol.1
The African campaign (1935-36) marked a change in the strategy of the Fascist regime: in addition to political anthems, a new style of apparently joyous and carefree songs were popularized by the radio that spread propagandistic content creating consensus around the ideals of fascism. The prototype is Faccetta nera (Little black face), a militaristic march telling the story of a young Abyssinian girl torn from the hands of a tyrant by the intervention of “another Duce, another King”.
