Gilda Mignonette - The Queen of immigrants 1

Nicknamed the Queen of immigrants, Gilda Mignonette (1886 - 1953) began her successful career at a very young age in music halls and café-concerts in Naples, and in 1910 started touring abroad (Spain, Hungary and Russia). Shortly before the First World War, she triumphed in Argentina and Cuba and, in 1924, arrived in New York. Here she became an international star performing a repertoire of new Neapolitan songs which included the celebrated A cartulina e 'Napule.
