In 1960 The Twist, a song by Hank Ballard revived by Chubby Checker, launched a dancing style that soon became extremely popular. In a brief space of time, the twist spread around the world, including in Italy, where the mania exploded in 1962 after it was launched the year before by Peppino Di Capri. To that period belong the songs of this collection, which consists of a number of covers, but mostly of original, extremely successful tunes that in some cases were associated with famous films of the time (Il Sorpasso, L’Eclisse).
