Christmas for children

In the 1950s, the boom of Christmas songs in the United States extended to the repertoire for children, closely affiliated with television programmes (animated series), cinema and advertisements of products for children. In Italy, on the other hand, it was the Zecchino d'Oro Festival that seized the new marketing cue and it was from the 1960 edition (the second one) that Caro Gesù Bambino came, the first hit record for kids, a small classic for adults. Last in order of time came A Natale puoi, launched by a famous TV commercial. In between were timeless hits from the Christmas songbook, lullabies and hymns enhanced in Italian by choirs of soprano voices and internationally renowned singers. Among the curiosities, a song written by Bruno Lauzi (Babbo blu), a songwriter who has worked with the world of children for a long time.
