Lo zecchino d’oro playlist
Starting from 1959, songs for children too got their own song competition, the Zecchino d’Oro Festival, conceived by Cino Tortorella (aka Mago Zurli). Referencing the Pinocchio fairy tale, it is reminiscent of Sanremo Festival especially because of its televised nature. Transferred from the Antoniano of Bologna to RAI studios, the Zecchino gained increasing popularity in the nineteen-sixties and reached an international audience in 1976. The collection features a few successes from the first decade reinterpreted by two children’s choirs.
