Mambo all’italiana playlist
In the late 1950s, mambo fever spread to Italy. The Cuban dance was immediately associated with the Bel Paese, thanks to an international success (Mambo italiano) that made fun of some of our clichés. Carosone's cover, which included self-ironic citations of Neapolitan songs, paved the way for innumerable songs in the rhythm of mambo. Between the 1980s and '90s, the dance was back in fashion, among new swing, parodies and ethnic fusions.
