Mina International playlist

International Mina

In her long career, Mina has had the opportunity to sing in many languages: English, German, French, Spanish, Japanese, Turkish, as well as Neapolitan of course, a language dear to her since the beginning of her career when she recorded a fine version of Munasterio ‘e Santa Chiara.

This playlist documents her adventures in other languages at different moments of her career. Of these, Spanish has certainly been the most congenial one for her (as we can see by the quantity of songs she interpreted in that language). It offers only versions of her Italian hits destined for various foreign countries, since Mina often recorded American or Latin American standards that became classics over time, from Besame mucho to Johnny Guitar, just to give some examples.

The only exception is Anata to watashi which came directly from a Japanese text set to a composition by Bruno Canfora entitled Tu ed io.

Here are the corresponding titles in the foreign languages and the Italian originals:

01. Juntos (Insieme)

02. L’amour est mort (Io e te da soli)

03. The world we love in (Il cielo in una stanza)

04. Y si mañana (E se domani)
