One last waltz

In this second playlist dedicated to three -quarter time, which was the absolute ruler in the percentage of songs that followed its evolutions, with respect to other rhythms, the waltz now prevailed over jazz, celebrating women with curious names like Tamara or Petronilla, now corroborating its deep roots in Italian society, almost like an ancient dance. But the waltz knows mainly how to speak to the heart, whether expressing desire and sympathy, or coming between the two lovers, exalting the union or placing itself as a painful parenthesis of a love story that was over. The end of the playlist is entrusted to the farewell waltz par excellence, that Candlelight Waltz which actually comes from a traditional Scottish song (Auld Lang Syne) used to celebrate the New Year but which, thanks to the film Waterloo Bridge (in whose soundtrack it was used), became the sound image of a love that was over
